So, yesterday we went to the annual Knowing You Run/Walk. They postponed it this year until May because the past couple of years have had horrible weather in April. Well, of course yesterday there were a few clouds and rain to start off. I had run home to grab the stroller with the rain cover and I come back to find my daughter running around in the sand volleyball court and rain. Daddy had given the okay. Had I been there, I may have been a little hesitant to let her go, but she enjoyed it so much.
You can’t tell too well from the picture, but she is covered in sand. She kept running over the the ice and using ice cubes to help get some of the sand off and then she’d head back over to play in it again.
Five of the past almost seven years of our marriage, my husband, Kyle has been serving as a full time youth pastor. I try to be as involved as I can aside from being a mother and a nurse. There are many things I love about serving with him. I love being an influence in our student’s lives and watching them grow. While it can be difficult at times with always being so busy, it is rewarding. Then there are those moments like last night when it just makes me laugh. Below are pictures of what we found in our car last night.
Yes, that’s right a few of our lovely girls decided to TP the inside of our car while we were in our financial peace class. It was partially my fault though because I forgot to lock KJ’s door.
KJ had fun helping clean up. Thankfully, the 3 suspects helped cleaned it up.
Then there are proud moments like these. This is only 4 of our 17 graduating seniors. They were the first of 4 schools to graduate out of everyone. There will be many more graduations and graduation parties to attend in the coming weeks, gotta love it!!
My sister was in town visiting from Michigan over the weekend. It was such a treat to have her here over Mother’s Day weekend. Our niece, Isabella Marie is now close to 20 months old. She is such a joy. It was fun to see her and Kenedee (or Dee Dee as Bella calls her) interact with each other.
They are both quite the little bookworms.
This year they were both in the fashion show at the Spring brunch. Kenedee tried to keep Bella on track as best as she could.
Lots of kisses were given over the weekend.
Sharing an apple, it was so cute.
We took the girls to the zoo, the weather couldn’t have been better. Our wagon came in handy.
Now that Isabella is getting a little older, it’s fun to see the two of them interact together. A lot of the time at Mama and Papa’s was spent running around after each other screaming and laughing while Isabella was yelling out “Dee Dee!” So precious.
I love being a mother, although it can be very challenging at times. I think giving birth to a child is one of life’s greatest miracles and I am very fortunate to have been able to experience that with Kenedee. I am so thankful to have her, I can’t remember life without her. She definitely has her moments where she can be very difficult. In fact, I told my mom yesterday that whoever came up with the terrible twos must not have been a parents because Kenedee is going through the terrible threes and I have talked to many other mothers who have said the same things. I enjoy being able to provide for her and loving her with unconditional love. She makes my heart melt when she randomly comes and hugs me and tells me she loves me. My only hope is that she knows how much I really do love her and how she is one of God’s little children, I hope she experiences his love just as I have.
Okay, so I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted. Once again, we’ve had a pretty crazy busy past week. Sad to say that Kyle’s grandmother passed away so we had to work out a schedule for us to be able to go to OKC for the funeral, which Kyle performed. While it’s very sad with the passing of her, it’s somewhat bittersweet. She is gone from us but is now with her husband JW who passed away about 3 years ago.
So, here are some photos from the second part of our trip to Cali. We took Kenedee to Disneyland and followed it up the next day with a character breakfast. I think if we would have had more time I would have split it up into two days, it was fun but it was a lot to do in one day. We were totally blessed and were able to get into both Disneyland and California Adventure thanks to a friend’s girlfriend’s mom who happens to work for Disneyland.

Breakfast at Goofy’s Kitchen. She was so surprised, I loved it.
It was such a great trip, went by way too fast. I’m now looking forward to taking her to Disney World in Florida in a few years. To see more photos you can go here.
